    Hello

While the New Year Resolutions go whizzing about our head and disappearing quickly into that other world where we are all thinner, fitter, more concientious, where we spend less time on Facebook and more time actually calling and talking to our friends and family, the farmers have been working away making ready for the new season of markets.

While we don't have a full compliment of stalls this week we are 80% full and can offer everything you need for you weekly shop.

    Hi

The top banner does indeed say the next market is the 29th but this is an automatically generated date function and can't be changed so for one week each year I need to make excuses.

We will be back with a full market next week January 5th, with most of you favourtite stallholders. Some will be on holday or out pof stock but come back and check the website next week to make sure you know who's coming.

    Helo

Every week recently it seems I've be trumpeting on about the Cherries, and every week all I deliver is disapointment as the weather holds up or disrupts the harvest, so this week all I am going to say is you've got a 0/50 chance. Connie from Blue haze Cherries promised me on Monday that if the weather stood up everything would be good .. so  far it has but with rain forecast for tomorrow and Friday which is when they would start to pick... who knows..

So let's make a list called  "What is Christmas without..."

    Hi

Now here's a familiar problem ...Have you been busy the last couple of weeks and haven't had time to cook the Christmas Cake yet? Never fear the good mothers of Flemington Primary school are coming back again this week with their excellent Christmas cakes and puddings. If you were lucky enough the pick one up last year you will know how good they are. Just look at the picture and imagine the taste, don't be late they sell fast

The big new of Summer and the big news we are waiting with bated breath for is when the Apricots from Howeison Farm to come  to market. All this sun has made them wake up and ripen, so Lisa and farmer Gordon have fuelled the truck ready for Sunday morning. Keep your eye on this news item for up to date updates !

    Hi

Yes its Peony season. Ergo it must be Spring, although you would be forgiven if you looked out the window and snorted into your winter broth. But remember its only two weeks until Summer !

One of the nicest introduction to Summer has always been peony season, it lasts a 4 to 6 weeks at best and then its over but for a short while these lush and riotous flowers fill our homes. Spring Creek Peonies are coming this Sunday, grab a bunch !

    Hi

The most dominant conversation around the markets these last weeks has been about the weather. Too hot too soon so the plants come on, then cold for too long so they stop, then too wet and just when things look good a hot north wind comes and shrivels everything ... not to mention how annoying the weather is on Market day. Sheesh..Nature huh?

    Hello
Well it seems that cheese is the flavour of the month . Tamara from Boatshed cheese has just dropped me a line saying which says .... Hi Don Just a quick update to let you and the Flemington shoppers know we won a Gold medal and  “Best International Cheese” at the USA State Fair in North Carolina last week for our Chelsea Blue
