The very popular Shuki and Louisa  who have proved recently that they do indeed make very good falafels are taking a short break from Flemington Market.

Many of you might know they have recently opened a shop at 629 Brunswick Street and the instant success of this bold new step has overwhelmed them so ...  they need to take a break from the market to consolidate their lives.

So Its not often that I come across a product that I have never heard of before so I was delighted when Tina told me about this... Lisadurne Hill has added a new product to its range for 2016 – a Lime Agrumato.

     Hi

At the recent Paddock to Plate event, we made this film. Louis from Walking Fish Productions' is a regular at the market and approached me to see if we wanted anything filmed. Together we hatched this little film and he did a great job of shooting and editing. I can highly reccomend him if you need any filming done.

Hi... Even though there are a few stallholders who are chasing the Easter Bunny with a ramble of children hot on their heels, we will still be open and trading as usual.

Unfortunately the Petting Zoo can't come ( they are booked at the Easter Show in Cranbourne) but there will be Easter eggs for the Kids (and the Growns -ups) and the chocoholics who will be wandering around bumping into the furniture with a dazed out of this world look on their faces.

    See you Sunday.

     Supermartket Vs farmers market

This is a very interesting article from the Age Good Food Yesterday camparing the price quality and flavour in a product to product comparision. However as with most of these articles the real interest is in the answers of the questions they didn''t ask.

I've cut and pasted the conclusion here ..

This Sunday is Valentines Day. The origination of this Holy Day  comes from a Roman martyr Valentinne who used to travel around Ye Olde Roman Farmers Market tasting everything and exclaiming loudly "I love this lamb roast!"... "My heart is won by this salted Caramel macaron" ... or "I can Live no longer without these delicious heritage tomatoes !" ...

Hello ... Yes the market starts up again this Sunday.

After a well earned week off most of the farmers are back at work. January of course is a busy time for farmers with familes with summer and holidays and so over January we will have slightly smaller markets but as always the quality will be the best we can bring.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at the market this year

    regards

    Don
