Truffle and strife
Hello
First I want to explain to you that some stallholders who travel great distances do a Saturday and Sunday market on the same weekend to minimise their fuel costs. Gum Tree Pies are one of these smart operators and this is why they weren't at the market last week. This weekend is the first full weekend of July so they will be coming down and they WILL be at Flemington, so if you missed out last week, bring your bags, because they will be there.
The hot news is I am waiting to confirm a truffle seller at the market for Sunday. I've been chasing him for you but I'm waiting waiting waiting...watch this space.
While this weather is good for Truffles is not great for Chickens. Ian and Amanda from Yapunyah Meadows are finding it difficult to grow their chickens in sufficient numbers to get to the market. Ian sends his apologies and say he will get back as soon as he can. No time frame though unfortunately.
The good news...and yes there is some... is that we still have lots of great stallholders this week and the new season Tangelo's from the Orange lady are brilliant
