Boatshed Cheese

Tamara Newing’s Boatshed Cheese is a new entry into Victoria's prestigious Cheese industry

Tamara, an author and chef, who ran Tamara’s kitchen in Hawthorn for many years, has only been making cheese seriously for fifteen months from her Mount Martha cheese kitchen - a converted boatshed. Before she started the business, Tamara undertook an artisan cheese making course in the US.

For Tamara, getting into cheese making was to take her mind off the death of her fourteen year old son Reagan, in 2010. He was a cheese lover. Tamara named one of her cheese, Chelsea Blue, after Reagan. All profits from that cheese go to his foundation, which has supplied over 5000 soccer boots (and clothing) to underprivileged kids around the world. Reagan was a huge fan  of the (UK) Chelsea soccer club.

About Boat Shed Cheese
All the cheese is made by hand, using traditional French and Italian methods at BoatShed’s dedicated facility.
Goat's milk s is sourced from local producers and cow’s milk is either rich Jersey or Friesian direct from the farm.
The cheese is rennet-free so it is suitable for vegetarians.
